Chaaban Zeidan

Chaaban is a Lebanese who came to England to study English Language at the age of 17 and decided to follow his education in England. With Baccalaureates he studied A levels and went on to study Biochemistry and Biology degree switching to Optometry in 1976. His studies included several research posts in contact lenses, colour blindness and visual perception disorders and visual dominance. In 1991 Chaaban introduced innovative screening programmes for children that won him the UK Natwest Award for innovation, new ideas as well as the overall winner in business with top prize of £7000. In 1993, he was involved with ChromaGen lenses in colour blindness when his observation leads him to the discovery of the use of filters in Visual perception and Dyslexia. He became the clinical director of Cantor and Nissel for ChromaGen lenses-  Over the years he held several important posts and responsibilities including: Principle optometrist at FOCUS Birmingham, Principle Optometrist Sir Robert Peel Hospital in Tamworth and Victoria hospital Lichfield, Awarded the training provider status with the GOC, lead Course Director of CET training with Healthtalk UK and International, visiting lecturer to Ophthalmic Studies Foundation Degree at  Nottingham College but to name few.
Delivered  several lectures nationally and internationally on contact lenses, ChromaGen and Colour blindness, Dyslexia, Academic Skills  Disorders, , Nystagmus and Contact lenses. Wrote several articles and book: the Myth of Dyslexia, Children and Contact lenses,Visual dysfunction in galactocaemia children. Plus numerous In practice training programmes series to the medical and ophthalmic profession:  Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, Diabetes, Contact lenses, Anterior Segment- the Red eye, and devisedthe awards winning Programme for Academic Skills Disorder(PASD),Academic Skills Development, Improving your Memory and Learning Skills. 
Chaaban Zeidan holds fellowship of the British College of Optometrists, Freedom of the City of London is also the first optometrist to acquire the Post Graduate Diploma in Ocular therapeutics and the prestigious Post Graduate Independent Prescriber awarded by the British College of Optometrists in Staffordshire.
Over the past 12 years, Chaaban Zeidan achieved over 17 national awards in business, customer service, Innovation and Technology as well as the EyeCare Practice of the Year Award.

Abdul Rauf

Mr Rauf was brought up in Yorkshire and graduated from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, University of London, in 1983.  He undertook training in neurosurgery before deciding for a career in ophthalmology. His ophthalmology training included 3 years of research at St Mary’s Medical School, the Institute of Ophthalmology and Moorfields Eye Hospital, and he then joined the higher surgical training programme at Moorfields Eye Hospital, Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital and the Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queens Square, London. This training included fellowships in paediatric ophthalmology and medical retina, and extensive experience in oculoplastics where he gained expertise in the use of botulinum toxin for strabismus (squint) and blepharospasm.  He was appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Burton Hospitals NHS Trust in 1999. He was Royal College of Ophthalmologists Tutor for 3 years, before taking up role of Lead for the Ophthalmology Department at Queens Hospital, Burton-on-Trent. He also works as a volunteer surgeon at eye camps providing cataract surgery for rural populations in remote areas of the Indian sub-continent.

Dr Gina Ong

Gina was a consultant Histopathalogist with extensive knowledge of pathology and tissue formation and cells development. Her knowledge of cell development, skin behavior and health of the body makes her uniquely placed in offering the most valuable advice to clients wishing to undergo surgery or aesthetic therapy. She is involved in counseling, consent forms and pre and post operation therapies and aftercare. Gina offers an impressive knowledge in medical cells understanding that will comfort those wishing to undertake cosmetic surgery or have any burning questions to any possible side effects that likely to happen. Keen interest in horse riding and travel, she is a valuable member of the team, approachable and empathetic and frank with her recommendation

Karen Zeidan

Managing Director and Company Secretary of Zeidan Ophthalmic Opticians Ltd. Karen’s long history in Cosmetic and fashion meant an excellent eye for designs, glamour, fashion, and style. Karen previous posts included Regional Manager with Farnell Trading (cosmetics) Sales Manager with Revlon, Network Management (fine fragrance), Week-Enders Ladies Wear, Director of Healthtalks UK Ltd.(CET training company), Director of NU-Vision Ltd.  
Karen’s past experience gives Zeidan Eyecare Centre the edge in using her extensive experience and valuable knowledge on clients’ selection of best suitable frames, colour and style compatibility. Dedicated to excellence and outstanding service to all clients, Karen’s has re-enforced quality and value as the main theme of the business and geared the business into customer’s orientation and total satisfaction through staff’s CPD training, and careful selection of styles that reflect quality and style with value for money to clients. Karen new development at Zeidan’s Eyecare centre is the combination of eyecare, eye fashion, aesthetics and cosmetic surgery under one roof with the association with top leading surgeons. Karen is sitting her Clinical Optical Assistant Exams Level2- June 2010 and Diploma in Optics in 2011.
Sue Bates
Optical assistant and PASD monitoring manager: Has been with Zeidan centre for since 2007 years and has exceptional skills with the children attending the PASD club. A very active person within her community from Bowling to Tennis as well as being a grandma; Sue still has the appetite for CPD development. In her precious spare time studying for her modules and being a valuable member in the development of the business. Sue is sitting for her Clinical Optical Assistant Exams Level2 in June 2010 and will be reflecting on her next diploma modules in the coming year.
Jane Fallon
Optical Assistant and PASD Tutor:  Has been with Zeidan for since 2008. Jane is a keep fit person with eye for fashion and eyewear; reliable and valuable in ensuring accurate entry of data and information.
Laura Zeidan
Laura is a part time associate assistant having finished her final year at Stafford Grammar School and preparing for her university life reading BSc. Management and Sports Science. She is very able IT technician and has valuable input ensuring the data and program are running smoothly for Zeidan Eycare centre. Laura is a valuable assistant to supply on hand information about contact lenses from both clinical and personal experience. Heavily involved in various sports from Hockey, Netball, Sub aqua diving, horse riding, skating and skiing, Laura is able to project the usefulness of Contact lenses into the life of young as well as those who are sports active.
